St. Andrew's Douzaine, Guernsey

Our Feathered Friends

With Summer a distant memory and now with the continuing unwelcome wet, cold and frequently windy weather, please spare a thought for the plight of our local feathered friends and also those arriving from over the water looking for food and shelter.

Both locally and internationally, the populations of wild birds have received a hammering both from disease and destruction of habitat and food sources.

If you are able, please ensure that there is a ready supply of appropriate food and clean, fresh water at all times; it is also important to ensure that all feeders and bird baths/drinkers are kept clean to minimise the risks of diseases spreading amongst the birds.
