St. Andrew's Douzaine, Guernsey

Liberation Day 75 Years On

St Andrew’s Douzaine together with parishioners has for many years organised entertaining and active events for the people of Guernsey to celebrate Liberation day. This year was to be a year to remember. On behalf of the Douzaine, Mike O’Hara had formed an active group from the Douzaine and Parishioners to create a very Special Celebration for this the 75th year of Liberation. Alas this will not happen now, but the plans are in place for another time.

Chris Elliott has put together a number of images from the past celebrations in recognition of the work carried out by the previous Douzaine members and a thank you to all those that participated and joined us in our celebrations.

We hope that you have an enjoyable day under these very strange conditions, but keep safe so that we can all enjoy the celebrations in the future.

If anyone would like to add photos to the website of their 2020 Liberation Day celebrations during lock-down or photos from previous years, please would you send them to or to Mike Prosser –

Very Best Wishes

St Andrew’s Douzaine
