St Andrew’s Floral Group is a small group of dedicated Volunteers who organise and maintain a number of seasonal floral displays around the small Parish. These displays are largely confined to the limited Parish land, local house-holders and businesses. The Parish land is very small compared to other Parishes in Guernsey, however in 2017 the Group adopted a strip of land bordering the car park at Milton Produce and the Co-op car park; with considerable assistance it was also able to create a Wild Garden at the GSPCA.
Two plantings are made each year –
September/October for Winter Bulbs and Flowers
April/May for the Summer flowers.
The principal planting locations now are:
Blanchelande Gate
Rue Frairies – where we provide plants and planters for residents to maintain and water.
Fairies Court – where we provide plants and planters for residents to maintain and water.
Fairies Clos
The Last Post
St Andrew’s Church and Car Park
Douzaine Room
St Andrew’s Co-op/Milton Produce Car Park
Support is also given to St Andrew’s Community Centre. The Group has also carried out planting of Spring Daffodils for Floral Guernsey, and Rotary’s Purple Pinkies Campaign at Guernsey Water and Les Vauxbelets.
