Elections for Douzenier and Constable positions are held annually at the beginning of November. This year the Parish Elections are taking place at 7.30pm, on Wednesday November 6th at Rosaire Hall, Blanchelande College.
To participate, whether as a candidate, nominator, seconder, or voter, you must be on the St Andrews electoral roll. Nomination Forms can be downloaded from the bottom of this page.
If you're interested in serving as a Douzenier, you will need to be proposed and seconded by parishioners on the electoral roll. Elections are a chance to engage with the community, take part in decision-making, and help shape the future of St Andrews, including setting parish rates and managing parish properties.
St Andrews parish is seeking two Douzeniers and one Junior Constable. If you're passionate about keeping the parish safe, tidy, and well-run, you could be one of 14 individuals who volunteer their time to make a difference. The role offers a chance to influence key issues and support local initiatives.
Douzeniers come from all walks of life, and diversity of backgrounds and skills is encouraged. Whether you bring financial expertise, knowledge of local issues like schools and traffic, business experience or building skills, there’s a role for you. The main requirement is a commitment to improving the community and engaging with parishioners.
Douzaine meetings are held on the last Monday of the month in the evening, lasting about two hours, making it feasible to combine the role with a full-time job or other responsibilities. You may also participate in sub-committees or represent the parish at meetings with States officials or Deputies.
